Be Transformed…
Overcome your challenges and live life in a way that matters to you.
Hi, I’m Dr. Brian Quigley (he/him/his) and thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my work as a New Hampshire State licensed psychologist. If you’ve been experiencing some difficult emotions, struggling with challenging life circumstances, or finding yourself at a stressful moment in life; you may be wondering if things will ever change for you or whether anyone can help you through what you’re dealing with. Like many of us, you may also be feeling some anxiety about the idea of reaching out to a therapist for help and some unease about what to expect from being in therapy. Well, I’m so glad you’re here right now and taking the courageous step of thinking about getting some support from a therapist! I know with absolute confidence that change is possible for any circumstance and, although it’s often not easy, working in therapy can be wonderfully transformational, restorative, and life changing. You got this!
HOW I WORK
Working together, you’ll find our relationship to be highly supportive and collaborative; where you are a full partner in the process and together as a team we’ll be focused singularly on your goals. We’ll avoid taking a “one-size fits all” approach to therapy and instead design a more customized and straightforward plan by combining various therapy techniques that will better help YOU in meeting YOUR unique goals…after all every person is different no matter how similar they may seem in other ways. As we make changes in the areas of importance to you, the experience of working in therapy requires some hard work. However, the experience won’t feel mysterious, confusing, or one-sided.
As I’m sure you’d agree, finding a good match with your therapist is the most essential part of being in therapy- it can’t be overstated how feeling comfortable, accepted without judgement, supported, and understood by your therapist are necessary pre-requisites to meeting any goals in therapy. I understand this importance and work to create a safe environment in which these elements are emphasized. Others I’ve worked with describe me as deeply caring, down-to-earth, accepting and affirming, supportive while willing to challenge, playful, open, and easy to talk to about even the things we worry others may judge us for. I’m here to work with you, on the things that are important to you, at a pace comfortable to you, and in the ways we both mutually agree will have positive impacts.
